This observational painting course focuses on garments and textiles from life. Develop one sustained painting, working from clothing and fabric objects and are encouraged to bring your own items as subject matter (e.g., shirts, socks, scarves, sweaters, mittens) with clear structure, folds, and surface qualities, avoiding overly busy patterns. Through sustained observation, you will explore color, light, texture, and composition while developing painting skills. Instructor Paula McCarty, MFA, conducts the workshop.
