Food Protection Manager Certification

This program meets the eight-hour course and exam requirements by the Illinois Department of Public Health for the Certified Food Protection Manager Certification. Prepare to take the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification exam and cover the following topics:
  • Preventing cross-contamination
  • Cleaning and sanitizing
  • Safe food preparation
  • Receiving and storing food
  • Methods of thawing, cooking, cooling, and reheating food
  • HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points)
  • Food safety regulations
The course and exam are through ServSafe, administered by the National Restaurant Association. Exams can be taken in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Canadian French. The course is taught in English.
