Woodcarving for Beginners

Are you interested in learning woodcarving but don’t know where to start? This class introduces you to the basic skills of knife carving. After practicing basic cuts, you’ll get to work on two beginner-level projects of your own. Carve a palm size comfort bird and a small seasonal carving. Instructor Bill Pedersen will also cover how to care for your knives, other types of woodcarving tools and their uses, and how to finish your pieces with paint or other mediums after the carving is complete. Finally, you’ll be introduced to woodcarving resources to continue your journey in this wonderful art form.
Carving knife, protective glove, and all wood for carving are provided for you to keep.
