Expand your skills and knowledge of building, inspecting, and maintaining green infrastructure. The National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP) provides the base-level skill set needed for entry-level workers to properly construct, inspect, and maintain green stormwater infrastructure (GI).

Landscaping, city planning, public works, and stormwater management can benefit from the knowledge and skills to ensure GI projects are installed and maintained properly to support long-term performance and a positive impact on communities. Here are some benefits of becoming certified:

Registration process:
  1. You must apply and be approved BEFORE registering for the course. Instructions and NGICP certification application
  2. Once your application is approved, you will receive notification on registration via email. The class fee is $499. You must attend each session and complete 100% of the online course modules and assignments to be eligible for the certification exam. No makeup sessions are available.
  3. Once your training attendance log has been verified by ECI, you will be contacted with instructions to schedule and pay for the exam. Visit the ECI site for details.

Please read: 
The class fee is $499. The class will meet for LIVE, online discussion from 12:30PM-2:30PM CST on Thursdays from July 2 - 30, 2026. You must complete 100% of the online course modules and assignments to be eligible for the certification exam. No make-up sessions are available. While Parkland College provides the NGICP training, EnviroCert International, Inc. (ECI) administers the computer-based certification exam at Prometric Testing Centers or through online remote proctoring. The fee for the NGICP exam is $150. Registration for the exam will occur through ECI. Visit the ECI site for details.
