Overwintering Honeybee Hives

Winters are tough on honeybees.  Many hives don’t make it through the Illinois winter without beekeepers’ help. This class will highlight  measures that beekeepers can take to improve their bees’ chances of survival.  Learn about winter feeding, hive insulation, ventilation, and other essential preparations, including a technique for making winter sugar boards. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to protect and help your honeybees survive the most critical time of the year. This class is for beekeepers and those concerned with honeybee survival.
