« back to classes page
Are you interested in learning woodcarving but don’t know where to start? This class introduces you to the styles of woodcarving and the types of tools used. The focus is on the basic skills of knife carving. After practicing basic cuts, you’ll work on two beginner-level projects of your own. Carve a 2-by-4-inch comfort bird and a 2-by-4-inch seasonal carving. Instructor Bill Pedersen will also cover how to care for your knives and how to finish your pieces with paint after the carving is complete. Finally, you’ll be introduced to woodcarving resources to continue your journey in this wonderful art form.
Carving knife, protective glove, and all wood for carving are provided.
